Spoofed Emails and What are TheyWhat is a spoofed email? In the simplest terms, a spoofed email is an forged email. The formal definition can be found here. The from-address of an email is easily forged to make an email appear to be from an legitimate source when it really came from a spammer. Popular websites such as eBay, PayPal, ecard website, and even bank websites often have their email addresses spoofed on a constant basis. This happens also to low traffic run-of-the-mill sites as well. Spammer simply go out on the Internet look around for domain names and use them in the from-address of their spam emails. For example, they will just make up some email such as john or jane at such-and-such domain dot com. Or it can even be a real email address they they found off a website such as info at such-and-such domain dot com. They even got a programs that tacks on random fake name to the the domain name for use as the from-address of their spam mails. Hence the take-away point is that just because you see the from-address being from a legitimate source does not mean that it was sent from that source. In fact, it is safe to say that the from-address of a spam email is almost always forged. Why? Did you think that a spammer would put their own real form address? We have evidence that our domain name LearnWebDesignOnline.com have been spoofed. We have seen spammers use our domain name in the from-address of their spam email. Unfortunately, because this is not happening on our servers -- spammers have thier own servers in which they do this stuff -- there is nothing that we can do to stop them. Rest assured, that we definitely did not send out any spam or malignant email. We would never do such things. In the menu on the left, we will show you how to detect spoofed emails.
