Fade Image on Two EdgesIn a previous lesson of the Intro Fireworks course, we learned how to use gradient masking to fade an image on the bottom edge of a photo so that it blends into the background.
The problem is what if we want to fade the right edge of the image as well. Fireworks does not allow us to add a second mask. You can download the Firework example file creativeworks.png here and follow along as we learn how. Step 1: Flatten our bitmap image by ...
Step 2: Now we have just a regular bitmap without a mask. The gradient transition has become part of the bitmap. So we are able to click "Add Mask" to add another mask.
Step 3: Setup the gradient tool as before...
Step 4: Apply the gradeint on the mask...
Step 5: And there you have it. You can get the resulting creativeworks.png file here. And if you want to apply additional gradients, repeat the process by flattening the bitmap.
