Step 22: Add Additional Text

We add the rest of the text as shown...

To make the underlines under the text, create a new layer and use the line tool in Fill Pixel mode as shown...

Rename the layer to "underlines" to keep things organized.

Step 23: Applying a Gradient Corner

The lower-right corner appears a bit empty. Let put a gradient there to stop the eye from drifting out of the masthead through that corner. Start a new layer called "gradient corner". Set up a gradient with color sampled from the masthead.

Marquee off the corner with the ploygon-lasso tool.

Note that I try to make the marquee edge at the same angle as the left and right sloped diagonals. Now apply the gradient.

Do Ctrl-D to de-select the lasso marquee.

Drag this "gradient corner" layer almost to the bottom of the layer stack.

And we are done. This is what we have...
