Step 6: Three-Stop Gradient in Photoshop

How about if we make our gradient alternate from dark, light, and then back to dark so that the words "Online.com" is over the dark areas of the gradient. Let's try this by adding a third color stop in the middle of our gradient. Go back to the "base" layer in the Layers panel, select the gradient tool, and open its Gradient Editor....

Until you get something like the following...

Step 7: Dragging Out the Gradient

Making sure "base" layer is selected, drag out the gradient while holding down the shift key.

Let see how the design looks.

Step 8: Reverting Back to Previous Version

I don't like it. It gives an spotlight effect. And I also wanted the right side to be light blue base color so that it can have text links that matches the rest of the site. Did you save the file as mentioned in the previous step? Let's revert back to the previously saved version with "File -> Revert".
