What if They Never Paid

eBay recommends that seller wait until payment is received before shipping. Although the winning bidder is obligated to purchase the item after the auction, it can happen that for whatever reason he/she decides not to go through with the purchase. It could be that they did not realize the shipping cost, or they had found something else in the meantime, or the excitment of the item has disappeared, or whatever. It is true that you can try to get them to pay by following the unpaid item process. However, if you have not shipped the item yet, it is much easier to sell the item to the next highest bidder through the second chance feature instead. Of course before doing so, make reasonable attempts at resolution and inform the winning bidder if you do not receive payment within a reasonable time, you will be offering the item to someone else.

Paymenet Recieved

Once you have received payment, you can mark the item as "Payment Received" in My eBay. Then ship the item and mark it as "Item Shipped" in My eBay. As you make these marks, you can see what stage of the process you are at by the icons.
