Enabling the Low Stock Email and setting Low Stock Quantity in ZenCart

The "Low Stock Email" is disabled in ZenCart by default. It is recommended that you enable the "Low Stock Email" and set the appropriate "Low Stock Quantity" that is appropriate for your product line.

This is because as user makes purchases, ZenCart will decrement the inventory of that product. If the inventory reaches zero, ZenCart will automatically disable that product. In order for you as store owner to be warned when this is about to occur, you can enable the "Low Stock Email" so that ZenCart will send an email to you when inventory reaches below a certain level.

To enable the "Low Stock Email"...
1. Go to "Configuration -> Email Options"
2. Set "Send Low Stock Emails" to "1".
3. Set "Send Low Stock Emails To" to your email address.

To set the "Low Stock Quantity"...
1. Go to "Configuration -> Stock"
2. Set "Stock Re-order level" to your low stock quantity (typically 5).

In the event that ZenCart has disabled your product due of zero inventory., go to edit the product in the admin interface and set "Product Quantity" to a positive number. In addition, you must also explicitly "turn back on" that product by editing the product in the admin interface and setting "Products Status" to be "In Stock".
