Blog By Email

In the first lesson, you learn how to post a blog by logging onto blogger.com. Now you will learn how to post a blog simply by sending an email. First you have to set the settings in your profile.

1. Go to Dashboard and click Edit Profile.

2. Under Settings -> Email, enter a secret name and checkmark Publish. And click Save Settings.

This will become the email address that you will send your blog to. Obviously, you don't want to reveal this secret email address. Otherwise, anyone can publish to your blog by emailing to that address.

3. After saving settings, click Republish button.

4. Now let's test it out. I compose an email with the contents of my blog and send it to the secret email address. The subject line of the email become the title to the blog article.

5. Go back to Dashboard and refresh the browser. You see that I now have an additional post.

6. And when you click into the blog, you see the new entry.

7. You can view the new entry by clicking on your view link. And here it is -- exactly what you have typed in your email...

Note that the text in the browser title bar and the URL of the permalink is constructed from the subject line of your email.
