AdSense for Content

To place the Google ads on my page, I logged into my Google AdSense account and selected the tab AdSense for Content. I selected the radio button "Ad Unit", the "120x600 Skyscraper" Ad layout, and "Cut Grass" for the color pallette.

For the first ad, don't worry about the Alternate Ad URL, Channel, nor Framed pages.

The important thing is to copy and paste the Google code in the "Your AdSense Code" section to your HTML page as before...

And when you run your page, you should see the Google Ads...

Now it make take a bit of time for the AdSense to kick in. So your site may initially display some generic ads that are not related to your site. But after about an hour (sometimes just a few minutes), Google will start displaying ads that are relevant to the content of your page. As you can see from my example, my webpage talks about detecting fraudulent emails, and the ads that come up is about email fraud and payment fraud. Google does this by reading your HTML page for keywords and then finding ads that matches those keywords.
